The well respected and International group Helm will be teaching a one off workshop in Middle Eastern Rhythms for both dancers and drummers. In the evening we will be joining forces with Helm and Dajjah to bring you another fabulous night of FireWater. Merging traditional and contemporary Live music, performances, the chance to dance to live music yourselves, and more... this is a night not to be missed!!!
Based in California, Helm is a major contributor to Middle Eastern music and a huge influence and inspiration to many great dancers around the world. Well known for their collaborations with dancers such as FatChanceBellyDance; Mira Betz, Rachel Brice, Zoe Jakes and Elizabeth Strong, Helm’s music provides a rich platform for expression for all to enjoy. www.helmmusic.com
Dajjah’s music is best described as “live mutations of Middle Eastern instruments with beats and bass and... feeling”. Seen previously at Tribalondon, Dajjah are renowned for bringing arab-beats/reeds & bass pressure for the discerning. www.dajjah.co.uk

PERCUSSION & DANCE WORKSHOP WITH HELM:
In this one off workshop with Helm, Middle Eastern Rhythms will be explored and one of Helm’s own pieces of music will be worked on. This 3 hour workshop will be divided between percussion and dance groups - Mark Bell will teach percussion to those wishing to learn how to drum, whilst Ling Shien Bell teaches finger cymbals and dance. Both drummers and dancers will come together at the end of the workshop to work on rhythms, patterns and movements. Please note: This workshop is open to dancers of any genre, musicians, and dancers who want to drum!
